Pictures & Recital
Class and individual pictures take place mid May at an outdoor location TBA!
Our year ends with an annual recital held in June.
Pre-Ballet
This class is designed for 3-5 year olds who have no previous experience in dance. It is a fun introduction to ballet using imaginative techniques to learn the primary elements of classical ballet including floor & center work.
Attire: Black short sleeve leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (leather, full sole, no drawstring), hair up in a bun. No skirts please.
Ballet I
This is a beginning level class for students who have already had introductory ballet classes. Warm-ups at the barre teach primary elements of classical ballet: posture, positions of feet, arms, head, qualities of movement, centre floor, and elementary combinations across the floor, while still including the fun activities.
Attire: Black short sleeve leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (leather, full sole, no drawstring), hair up in a bun.
Ballet II & III
This program is geared toward advanced beginners and intermediate students. Barre work, combinations, and dances will be more advanced working not only on the positions of the body, but on musicality as well.
Attire: Black leotard (any style), pink tights, pink ballet shoes (leather, full sole, no drawstring), hair up in a bun.
Tap I
This class is focused toward the student with no previous tap dance training. Students will learn the basic steps and concepts of tap. The basic steps and rhythms will be put together into simple combinations and routines.
Attire: Black leotard (any style) tan tights, tan tap shoes (Bloch Merry Jane), shorts or skirts allowed, hair must be up and away from face.
Tap II
This class is for tap students with previous experience. More advanced footwork, rhythms, and combinations will be taught.
Attire: Black leotard (any style) tan tights, tan tap shoes (Bloch Merry Jane), shorts or skirts allowed, hair must be up and away from face.
Jazz
This is an upbeat class using a variety of musical styles in order to perform movement based on body part isolation, sequential movement, turns, and jumps, culminating in a longer dance combination.
Attire: Solid colored leotard any style, shorts or leggings, black jazz shoes (Bloch lace up jazz shoe), hair must be up and away from face.
Hip Hop
For students who want to learn the expressive, funkier style of jazz. Syncopation and isolations are key elements of this class, and some breakdancing will be taught as well.
Attire: Solid colored leotard any style, shorts or pants of any style allowed, black jazz sneakers (Bloch 538 jazz sneakers recommended), hair must be up and away from face.
Musical Theatre I & II
This class combines dancing, singing, and acting. Students will learn musical theatre dance technique while also creating a character and learning basic singing technique.
Attire: Solid colored leotard any style, shorts or leggings allowed (must be fitted), tan jazz shoes, tan tights, hair must be up and away from face.
Musical Theatre III
This class is for advanced students delving into Fosse technique and dancing in character shoes.
Attire: Solid colored leotard any style, shorts or leggings allowed (must be fitted), tan character shoes, tan tights, hair must be up and away from face.
